2019 Barao de Vilar Mentor Douro DOC

2019 Barao de Vilar Mentor Douro DOC

£14.00Price

This wonderful red wine was fermented particularly gently and stored in oak barrels for 12 months.

The Barao de Vilar winery consists of two so-called quintas, estates on which the grapes are grown. These were called "Quinta do Som" and "Quinta de Saiao". Various types of red wine typical of Portugal are grown here, which give the wines their special character. The soils are heavily characterized by slate and therefore give the wines a wonderful freshness and finesse. The winery is run by the van Zeller family, a family that has been making wines along the Douro for centuries. This wonderful red wine was fermented particularly gently, so that it retains its wonderful fruitiness. In addition, it was allowed to mature in oak barrels for more than 12 months.
