Sourdough Starter


  1. Mix together the above ingredients and place in a bowl covered with cheesecloth or a damp towel. 
  2. Place on counter away from the sink and trash. 
  3. Add ¼ cup water and ¼ cup flour every day for the next week. 
  4. Use as needed. 
  5. After the first week you can reduce the feeding time to once every three days by Storing the starter in your fridge.

Version 1:

  • 1 packet dry active yeast
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1 cup flour
Version 2:
  • sediment from 3 bottles of conditioned beer
  • ½ cup hot water
  • ½ cup flour
